Welcome To COCT

michael_brayChristian Outreach College Toowoomba (COCT) is proudly announcing today our own Mr Michael Bray as the new College Principal.

Michael Bray has been a respected member of the COCT community and has previously held the positions of teacher, Head of Science and Maths, Director of Studies and Deputy Head of Secondary over the last 10 years.

Mr Bray began his teaching career at Nambour Christian College. He spent five years there, before holding various teaching positions in London, UK.

Mr Bray recently received a scholarship for the development of principals by Independent Schools Queensland, and was awarded Golden Key Society membership for academic excellence in 2010 by the University of New England.

Christian Outreach Church Toowoomba Lead Pastor Ken Wootton, who was part of the interviewing panel, said Michael was the right choice for this new season at COCT.

“Michael has been called for this position, at the right place, at the right time, and with the right development,” Mr Wootton said.

“I believe that Michael’s values, vision and passion will ensure that COCT continues to build on its reputation as one the region’s leading Christian Schools.

“He has shown exemplary character in this College over the years, and every task he's done has always exceeded expectations,” he said.

Newly appointed COCT Principal Michael Bray said he was excited to start leading such a passionate team to continue to work together toward unity, growth and excellence.

“One of the key things I want to see is that we celebrate what we're doing well and then build on those successes. We have great students, great staff, great families and as we all work together, we will see exceptional outcomes.

“I want us to be a lighthouse, to be a place that inspires and motivates those around us for our culture and our quality.

“We're striving to see the development of Christian character in our students. We're equipping students for life academically, socially, physically and above all, spiritually,” Mr Bray said.

The 3-month long recruiting process for the position had internal and market applications from exceptional educators, and the applicants were interviewed through a panel of COCT board members and three external educational experts, including a final testing process after which Mr Bray was appointed as Principal.
